GIS and As-Built Fiber Work in the US

In 2019, a major telecom provider in the US was starting their telecom and coaxial cable as-built work, enhancing their network across the country. With over one million connections enabling high-speed internet, phone and TV services in nearly 900 communities across rural, suburban and urban communities, they needed someone who could handle the scale and multiple technologies involved in the operation.

With both telecom and coaxial as-built work required, the scope of the project covered two major parts of the client’s network. Along with as-builts, GIS work was an important part of the work as well, with GIS work in telecom, cable and FTTH required. Digitizing network data before the as-built updates was an integral phase this project.
