Conflation (Cadastral Shift) for a Major Telecom Provider: 5 Data Systems to 1

The client had operations in multiple regions across the United States. In order to streamline operations and improve the overall efficiency of the organization, the client wanted to merge all five datasets into one and enable geo-positioning. This way, not only would there be a single source of truth for the data, but it would be easy to track and maintain moving forward as well.

With five different projects using five different specifications and symbology, the land bases that were being used were outdated, and not accurate with the latest real-world data. Along with these issues, there was duplicate data and IDs among the five projects, which needed to be scrubbed and sorted out for an accurate single source of truth.

We created a master symbology, with specifications based on the five projects of the client. With all of their data now in a single system and their network data now accurately represented in the real world, with newly updated land base maps, the client was now able to clearly track the progress of their projects, without getting bogged down by multiple systems and protocols for each project.

With streamlined processes and a new single source of data, they were now ready to handle any new work coming their way with ease, without any fear of inaccurate data or struggles to keep track of multiple workflows. Throughout this process of moving disparate data into a singular system, IMMCO covered 5000 miles of project area!
