As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, IMMCO sponsored a classroom at St. Joseph’s L.P.S, Muringoor, Thrissur, Kerala, helping the school in its mission to provide quality education to children.
During his recent visit, IMMCO CEO Keith Hayes was particularly moved by what he saw. He shared, “I have been to many Polytechs and Universities in my visits to India but St Joseph’s was the first Lower Primary School (K-4) I have seen. The school is public but is operated by a local church and serves economically underprivileged children with not only free education but also free nutrition. The school provides no-charge lunches, which may be the best meal the student gets that day.
IMMCO was privileged to help fund the construction of a beautiful new learning facility made from concrete with metal doors and windows, bright LED lights, and new furniture which offer a fantastic learning environment. As the husband of a retired teacher I know from helping in her classroom how learning is harder when the teacher is encumbered by a sub-par classroom.
In my comments to the students, staff, and parents that attended the IMMCO classroom dedication, I noted that education is the great "Enabler and Equalizer" and that our company was delighted to help them by providing some funding for the new building. I was truly touched and humbled by the passion of the staff, the parents, and the church Vicar to find a way to build a new campus and continue the mission of the school. I was glad IMMCO could help in a small way.”
Ultimately, IMMCO's contribution aims to enhance the learning experience for students, providing them with a better environment to grow, explore, and achieve their full potential!
